Cool contest, creative as always. :) Here are two more tips for your list . . .
1) Favorite money saving tip from this year: I now clean my kitchen (and sometimes bathroom) with 50/50 vinegar and water mix. Saved tons on cleaner, since I'm fanatical about kitchen surfaces, sanitizing them throughout the day. Yes, learned that from MOPS. :) I've done the 3-way water/vinegar/alcohol split, but that's an extra spray bottle. Found that the vinegar by itself does fine on glass too. And Titus can help, without being exposed to harsh chemicals. Love it!
2) This tip is similar to another one you received, I think. Quickest way to de-onionize/de-baconize/whatever the kitchen when I'm cooking and company's on the way (or Andrew, who hates the smell of onions, is about to walk in the door): boil cinnamon and cloves with apples and/or oranges. Can just use peel/core or rind. Works faster than a Yankee candle, and is almost free. If you can stand leaving a small pot on the stove, you can keep adding water and use it for a few days. I get it boiling and turn it down to simmer for an hour or two. Fills up the whole house. Mmmm . . . (Jess--who else leaves you novel length comments? Sorry!!!)
