Random...

::Just heard the going rate for a babysitter for four kids is $18/hr.  Seriously?  At the risk of sounding like my mother, I use to babysit for $2/hr and thought I was really rollin' in the dough!  (she babysat for 25 cents/hr like 100 years ago and the people had a bear in a cage in the backyard...it was probably up hill both ways, too...just checking to see if you're reading, mom!)  Anybody really paying $18/hr for a sitter?

::Vanity.  Cody and I decided it would be a good time to have one of my front teeth internally whitened.  It had been 10 years and was getting embarrassingly gray.  The problem: the partial filling holding the whitener in keeps popping out.  Normally it would not be a big deal to run to the dentist for 20 minutes.  However, Maddox doesn't prefer his mama out of sight in a strange office.  So, with biceps of steel...errr jello...I suspend Maddox in the air: Superman style: the.entire.time.

::The other day Carson said, "Hey mom, I know what ... means!  It means you really had a lot more words to say but felt kind and left them out!"  Boy, am I ever kind...

::Pinterest.  Need I say more?  Try these.  The blogger says they are like crack balls.  While I've never tried crack (I'm sure you're all relieved), they are seriously delicious, and we polished off a batch much faster than I'd like to admit.

So, what have you pinned lately?

Sadly, I'm not a Pinterest-er. A Pinner. A Pinter...I'm so confused! Anyway, I'll definitely be trying those balls, though! I have a similar recipe that uses crushed leftover cereal in place of the oatmeal, which makes for some good pantry-cleaning. And yes, they are delicious!

Girl, your biceps needed to eat LOTS of those energy bites to deal with 20 minutes of a benchpressed-baby!

And...I've never paid a sitter! My mom is too handy :). But someday, if it becomes necessary, I think I'd pay more like...mmmm...$20 total for an evening out? Because c'mon. Anything more, and we couldn't AFFORD an evening out!

$18 an hour?! Seriously? Whoa! My aunt comes over and watches my kiddos for free. Thankful for that. Haha, wow, holding your baby in the air for 20 minutes! Too funny :o)

I'm free to babysit your children anytime for $18 an hour. Heck, I'd babysit yours and the Riders for that kind of money! :) I'm hoping my babysitters don't get wind of this little bit o' info... Don't want them to start getting greedy on me... (and no, I'm not thinking unkind thoughts in my "...") :)

what?! $18/hour?!!! Sheesh, I remember when I upped what I charged to 75 cents/hour!!! I guess with my kids, I pain $5 for 3 kids, but that really seems extreme!!!

Those little "crack balls" look delicious and I am making them tomorrow!!

you go, mama, with those biceps!! that's impressive. really!

I made the "crack balls" today. My family (and I) loved them! I didnt have flax seed or coconut flakes so I used corn flakes instead. Delish!

We do $10/hour for our five kids (with a little more if they drive), but we're never gone more than 2 hours. And we always leave them with a movie that takes the whole time!
