Ch.Ch.Ch.Changes: A Wordy Wednesday

Life has a way of changing more quickly than I can keep up with sometimes.

more laundry

less sleep

more quick meals

less baking and home cooking

more homework and reading

less blogging

more money needed for school "things"

less time for bargain hunting

more housework

less time for friends

more tears

more smiles

more hugs

more kisses

(somebody is possibly feeling a little sentimental about these little people growing up so quickly)

I don't do super well with change.   at all.

I become emotional, sentimental, apprehensive...

My mind over-thinks things.  Guilt and fear overwhelm me.

Thankfully, there's a Constant in my life.

A Constant that carries me through these times.

A Constant that steadies my crazy mind.

Lamentations 3:21-25
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."
The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

Photo Booth Friday

Oh yes, it's true!
Even a little bedhead to prove it!

We don't mean to toot our own horn, but...
BEEP BEEP!

Thank you, Little Maddox!
You're making your mommy very proud (and more well-rested!).

Back to School!

We've had a week full of Back-to-School excitement!

We carried in big, heavy Target bags full of supplies to our school to fill our desks and meet our teachers!
We also took special gifts for each of our teachers!
(Thank you, Pinterest, for another fantastic idea!)
Our teachers were full of cheerful smiles and friendly hugs!

We were ready for the first day of school now!
Cloe was all smiles on her first day of 3rd grade!
Excited to break in our new shoes for P.E. on the first day!
 Cloe already loves her teacher!
(Yes, she is beautiful and my days of drop-off in pajamas are probably over!)
Brothers will always be best friends!
They dressed alike so they could easily find each other at recess!
 McClain was all smiles!
After school, he said his tears only spilled once at school.
(break.my.heart)
 Carson was all smiles, too!
He said school was not what he expected--they didn't even learn to read yet!

We made it!
(Now let the count down to summer vacation begin for mom!)

Well...

It's just you and me, Baby!

Will they remember...

...how to write their whole name?

...to use their manners during lunch?

...that brothers can't jump into a playful wrestling brawl on the playground?

...to be polite and kind to their new friends and teachers?

...where the restroom is? (and how to properly use it!)

...the sounds that all the letters make?

...to always try their best, even when it seems too hard?

...that I will always love them, no matter what?

Our boys start kindergarten this week.

Quite frankly, I'm a mess.

I'm not afraid of letting them go to school.  It's time.

No.  I'm anxious for their confidence in going to separate classrooms, their success in learning,  their new relationships with friends and teachers, and the choices they will make in loving God.

Pray for me?

Lord, I Need You
by Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill, Matt Maher

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

One Month!

Happy One Month Birthday Little Man!

You are the sweetest baby!

Your brothers and sister can't seem to get enough of your cuteness!

Not an hour during the day goes by without one of them wanting to hold or kiss you!

Your daddy and I are pretty impressed with you, too!

You are a pretty content little guy who is easily soothed.

You've gotten use to being on a schedule and sleep pretty well at night!
(Of course, we'll always take another hour of sleep if you feel inclined!)

We are loving the little glimpses of real smiles from you!

Tonight, you even gave a smile to a friend who is in the hospital...good boy!

Maddox, you were an unexpected little blessing, but we couldn't be more thankful for you!

We love you, Little Guy!
