Happy Homemaker Monday

Monday again!  Don't the weeks just fly by?
Glad I jumped on board with Sandra at Happy Homemaker Monday so I can catch some of the details of our busy life!

The Weather:::
We were under a Winter Weather Advisory today for snow and ice, but it missed us!  It wasn't the nicest day, but thankfully the temperatures are feeling warmer.  Spring must surely be on it's way!

Right now I am:
Crossing things off my to-do list!  Just emailed the boys' baseball coach,  added appointments to the calendar, started a load of laundry...

Thinking:
There are a lot of things consuming my mind.  Some are light things, but nonetheless, a little weighing:  my fourth grader with a tender heart feeling left out of birthday parties (a girl at school at a boy/girl movie party...I'm thinking "phew" on the being left out of that one), I have a glitch with a report for my small online job--can't figure it out...

On my reading pile:::
I Kings
A little pamphlet on Essential Oils--super intriguing

On my tv:::
Guys with Kids--too funny!
We watched a James Bond movie during Maddox's naptime today.  I guess I can handle action movies better during the day when it's completely light outside.  Who knew?

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
Messy Mom had a great post on Pinterest.  Some true thoughts on filtering what we pin.  It's a good, thought-provoking read.

Something fun to share:::
Tomorrow, I get to spend some time with three of my most favorite ladies!  The pastors' wives from our church really haven't gotten to spend very much time together in a very long time...that's going to end tomorrow night!  Yippee!!!

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Spicy Sausage Pasta Skillet  (This was SUPER delicious!  I didn't have all the same ingredients, so we used chicken sausage, diced tomatoes, green chiles, israeli couscous, kale, and whole milk.  Everyone loved it!)
Tuesday - Leftover soup for the family...I get to go out!
Wednesday - Willow Creek Cafe
Thursday -  Parent/Teacher Conference Night, so it'll be something quick!
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::
A lot of really random, but demanding things.  (how's that for being elusive?)

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
"Creating" two dozen cookies on Wednesday and a crock-pot of soup on Thursday for our teachers.

Homemaking Tips:::
Let your kids vacuum.  It might not be perfect, but it's a fun chore that our kids love to do!

Looking around the house:::
The 10 o'clock news is on and I have a new vase of lemons to brighten the room!  (Thank you, Younkers $10 birthday coupon!)

From the camera:::

This picture so captures our Sunday mornings.  We get to church a little after 7, and the kids love to dork around with the instruments before we start practice.  Maddox is one the drums--see him reaching back there?  Cloe is sporting some super awesome fake glasses that she got shopping with the nicest friends ever (don't you love those memories of fake glasses when you were a kid?), Mac is jamming on a mandolin, and Carson is wind chiming over and over and over.  Love it!

On my prayer list:::
That silly rental house.  It really needs to sell.  Cody and I were talking about what lessons God might be teaching us through that house--Cody keeps coming back to patience while I try to look for every other possible reason.  Maybe I'm not wanting to admit I'm impatient for God's timing?  Anyway...pray!
A old friend from MOPS came to church for the first time on Sunday.  While it awesome to see something take place that we had prayed for diligently years ago, it was hard to hear that her life is rough right now.  Praying she will find Jesus and the comfort and peace only He can offer.
Our kids.  Love them all so much!

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV  (I took this verse from Sandra--it's such a good one!!!)

I am so honored to be featured on your list! I love the picture of the kids on the platform with the instruments. My husband is a worship leader so it's all so familiar to me :)
